Iris and Herringbone, Jeannette

Jeannette's Iris and Herringbone pattern dates from the depression era. Because it is iridized, it does show up at Carnival Glass auctions and can be found in abundance on eBay. Prices for typical marigold examples of common shapes are very low (the marigold water set above, with 5 tumblers, sold in 2012 for $40).

In 2019, a marigold tumbler sold for $10.

The only Iris and Herringbone shapes that regularly get substantial prices are the demitasse cups and saucers (about half the size of regular cups and saucers). They are found in some unsual colors and are quite rare. The examples above are blue and wisteria. Here are some sales of this shape:

Demitasse cup and saucer sets

Lavender, 225 (2015), 170 (2020)

Marigold, 450 (1999)

Rose, 325, 350 (both 2002)

Ruby flashed, 220 (2015), 115 (2020)
