Acanthus, Imperial   Updated 11/12/2009

Leaves radiating in a swirl from the center. Found only in bowls and plates made from the same mold. Bowls are usually round as shown here. Plates are about 10 inches across and are considered chop plates. This is a different pattern than the Beaded Acanthus seen only in pitchers, but also made by Imperial. They also made a different pattern by the same name--with the design only on the exterior--during the 1970s. Fenton has made club souvenirs from the original molds of this pattern in recent years.
